Working with Lisa Ransdell is one of the best decisions we made to boost our son’s educational future. She helped him (and us) with everything, from his college list to his essays to understanding financial aid options. Now he is a happy and successful engineering student at a top-ranked program, and we all made it through the madness of his senior year of high school. Thank you Lisa! Molly Wagner, Denver
Pinnacle College Planning is the brainchild of Dr. Lisa Ransdell, an educator with a particularly impressive background. With credits at the University of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, Denison University, Ohio State University and more, it’s clear that Dr. Ransdell has the credentials needed to help your student do his or her very best on the SAT and ACT. There are a few different formats in which she offers her test prep. Her basic class includes 16 hours of instruction in a small seminar setting, and one-on-one tutoring is available in the Pinnacle office near the University of Denver. CBSDenver
I participated in Lisa’s summer college planning clinic the summer before my junior year, and she also worked with me on my college essays during this fall of my senior year. The summer clinic allowed me to get a feel for what I wanted to study and what I was looking for in a college, and it opened my eyes to lots of colleges and universities that I hadn’t considered. It helped me narrow my focus and decide where I wanted to apply. Working with Lisa on my essays was incredibly helpful. She helped me develop my ideas and also helped with grammar and usage. They turned out great! I’m applying to many high profile and ivy-league schools as well as public schools, and I feel very confident in my applications. Thanks Lisa! Karenna, Cherry Creek High School
Lisa Ransdell started working with my son while he was a high school freshman. They discussed high school graduation requirements and general admission requirements of colleges. She encouraged him to think about his high school education as a whole and start planning what classes he wanted and needed so that he would be prepared when the time came to apply to colleges. She also pushed him to think about his extracurricular activities and expand these beyond sports. He is now a sophomore and is involved in student senate, has started some volunteer work and has applied to programs outside of school…. Lisa really got my son on the right track for college. Her education and background make her a wonderful resource, and we will continue to work with her until our son is off to college. ~Jen Geraghty, Greenwood Village, CO
Dear Lisa: My first semester at Villanova has been amazing! I have gotten really involved in the school community and really like all my classes. They are very small and I have really gotten to know my teachers and classmates. Even though I am an engineering student, I got to take Spanish and English. Campus is small enough that I recognize people wherever I go, but big enough that I still meet new people every day. This summer, I am studying abroad with the school, going to Spain for two months and living with a host family in Madrid. I will be working at an internship during the week and traveling over the weekend. I am so excited! You were so helpful with my college search. I am so glad that you suggested Villanova, because I would have never found it otherwise! ~Lara, Arapahoe HS grad
Applying and gaining admission to college is one of most important times in your child’s life to help secure their future. The application process can be confusing and extremely time consuming for the child and the parents. My son had already decided on several colleges, but the applications, with their required essays, had to be done. We were all extremely busy and we needed help.
Lisa provided my son with expertise and guidance in completing his college essays and applications. She kept him track and her knowledge and insight was priceless. As such, my son gained admission to every university to which he applied. Additionally, she helped us find potential scholarship avenues.
Simply put, Lisa was awesome. We will definitely be calling her when it is time for our younger son to apply to college. Howard Miller, Dad of a future CSU freshman, class of ’15
